On the road with Camera Obscura

The project is the road.

1998 until 2022.

For over 20 years I wandered through the cities of Europe with a 2x2x2m “Black Box” and the simplest pinhole cameras. I placed the “Black Box” in public places, fairs or pedestrian zones. It was my gallery, walk-in camera obscura, my workplace and sometimes also my sleeping place. The conversations and friendships I experienced back then were almost more important than the resulting photographs and projects, which still remind me of these encounters today. You can buy some of my works in the Camera Obscura Shop.
