Silver

Silver has played an essential role in photography since the invention of the photographic process in the 19th century. It is used as a light-sensitive material to create photographs. In the lumen print process, the photographic material (photographic paper) is exposed directly to light without the use of a lens. Unlike conventional photographic processes, there is no development process. The resulting image is created solely by the reaction of light on the photographic material. The color changes in the photographic paper occur through the reaction of the light-sensitive silver halides in the paper with light. In my lumen prints, the focus is on the transience of the image, as the absence of fixation causes the image to change over time. The result is unexpected and unrepeatable photographs that find their uniqueness both in detail and as a whole. The role of chance and time in the creation of the images enhances the physical experience of impermanence and can be interpreted as a kind of symbol for the end of analog photography.
